Ross School District Financial Advisory CommitteeMission StatementThe primary purpose of the Financial Advisory Committee is to advise and be a resource to the Ross School Board, and by extension the Ross School Staff, on financial issues that impact, or may impact, the current and projected fiscal health of the Ross School. This includes a regular review of the Ross School Budget, any proposals or issues that might have a significant impact on the school, and special projects.Parent and community members are selected and appointed by the Board and serve a three-year term. The Chairperson serves a two-year term which may be additional.MeetingsMeetings are open to the public and held 4-6 times a year in the District Office.Brown Act
All Board-appointed committees are subject to the Brown Act. Therefore, all agendas and minutes will be posted.
"Besides the actual governing board of a local agency, Government Code 54952 provides that the Brown Act applies to any commissions, committees, boards, or other bodies of a local agency, whether permanent or temporary, decision-making or advisory, created by resolution or any other formal action of a legislative body,"
"Education Code 35145 provides that minutes must be taken of all actions taken by the governing board. Education Code 35163 also requires that every official board action be affirmed by a formal vote of the members of the board and kept in a journal of its proceedings."
