David Rice serves as the Superintendent of the Ross School where learners focus on growth, both emotionally and academically, and where faculty cause growth.
David previously served as the 5th-8th grade Ross School Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction as well as the Interim Superintendent from July 2022-February 2023. Before coming to Ross School David previously served in the Tamalpais Union High School District where he was Assistant Principal at both Archie Williams High School and Tamalpais High School.
Prior to working in administration, David taught Social Studies at Tamalpais High School for ten years where he also served as the Social Studies Department Teacher Leader. Additionally, David has taught in Cleveland, Ohio at the Garrett Morgan School of Science; he has also been a teacher of English in China.
David is an advocate for the implementation of social-emotional programming for students as well as an advocate for the use of restorative practices in schools. David is an advocate for student voice in their learning and believes in every student's ability to learn and grow at a high level. When not working to improve education, David enjoys being at the beach surfing and boogie boarding with his two children and wife.
